Taylorsville

Location: Alexander county in the northern Piedmont foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  County Elevation is 1000 in the southeast corner to 2,500 feet in the northwest area of Alexander county.

Lakes: Lake Hickory (part of Catawba River)

Parks: Matheson Park is a 7 acre park with swings,  play equipment, cookout & sheltered picnic areas, volleyball, restrooms and 2,000 foot trail. Other area parks – Town Park and Jaycee Park in Taylorsville, East Alexander Park & Rocky Face Park in Hiddenite and Bethlehem Community Park in Bethlehem

Other attractions in Alexander county: Hiddenite Center, 2 public golf courses, campgrounds, Emerald Hollow Gem Mine, Pine Valley Speedway and Taylorsville Speedway.

Transportation: U.S. Highway 64 connecting Taylorsville with Lenoir & Statesville.  Highways 16, 90 and 127 also serve Alexander county. I-40 & 77 are 20 minutes from most of Alexander county. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is approximately 1 hour drive.  Hickory Regional airport approximately 40 minutes and the Statesville Airport approximately 25 minutes.
